To join the MLS as a subscriber, complete the following required steps:
- Get licensed with the Arizona Department of Real Estate.
- Next, hang your license with a brokerage.
- Finally, the sign-up process to join the MLS is through the local associations. Contact one of our local associations for your options. They will handle all the paperwork and issue a login/password for the MLS (note: you’ll have to pay ARMLS separately).
- The final step is to pay your MLS subscriber fees.
For questions about joining ARMLS, contact support at 480-921-7777.

information sure does not help an appraiser who wants to join ARMLS
James Marcus
Hi, the process to join as an appraiser has very similar steps. See a local association for more details.

many bills should I get a year?
James Marcus
Hello! There are 4 organizations (bills) that are separate in the real estate sphere in Arizona: AAR (the state organization), your local association, ARMLS (MLS) and Supra (if you subscribe to the lockbox system, it’s optional).

MLS it is limited to a very small area and does not even cover Prescott Area, to see their listings you need to “re-join” that association when your current association should cover this. If you don’t do much business in the Prescott Area, why would they charge you the full fee just for using their forms? Not only that, they also charge you an “application fee” Why an application fee when your fees should already cover that? Other regional MLS’s are a mafia with a fee to discourage outsiders from doing business inside their turf. Your NAR fees should be able to allow you to do business in another region but that is not even a benefit.

Hello, I think there may be some confusion about ARMLS versus associations / other entities in Arizona. First, ARMLS does not have a service area defined by geography, meaning that subscribers can place listings in the MLS from anywhere in the world where they are licensed. While listings in the coverage areas of our associations require MLS entry, ARMLS can accept voluntary listings from almost anywhere. There are listings in ARMLS from every corner of the state.
Second, ARMLS does not charge an application fee or NAR fees. Being a REALTOR is not a requirement of ARMLS. You must hold a real estate or appraiser license. Subscribers are welcome to join any of our shareholder associations to gain access to ARMLS. Here is a list: https://armls.com/who-do-i-contact#local-associations. Each association is allowed to set their own terms, fees and conditions.

if being a realtor is not a requirement, why do I have to be a licensed real estate agent? They are one and the same! I just want to be able to search listings to find one that meets my needs prior to engaging a realtor to purchase a property. I do not trust the integrity and ethics of most Arizona realtors or even the boards that are suppose to be overseeing them.
James Marcus
Being a REALTOR is not a requirement to join ARMLS, it is the associations that set the criteria, they may offer non-REALTOR options.

I belong to the TARMLS, but our MLS listings overlap in certain areas in Pima county, and Cochise Co. Also, some of the homes that I want to show have the lock boxes from ARMLS, and they are different than TARMLS. I would like to be able to belong to both MLS organizations, is that possible? If so what does it entail, and cost?
James Marcus
Hi, it is possible to join more than one MLS. First, see what association memberships your broker holds. If your brokerage already holds a membership with one of our shareholder associations, contact that association to join ARMLS – https://armls.com/who-do-i-contact#local-associations. It’s possible that they may belong to more than one of our shareholders, so you may have a choice. If your brokerage does not belong to one of our associations, they will need to contact one first.

So does your broker (SEVRAR member) also need to join another association before I can join that association (Verde Valley?) I am hoping to work out of both areas. Thanks
James Marcus
Hi, please check with your broker on their membership(s) – it does matter.
