Social media sharing directly from Flexmls has been an exciting development this year. As you know, the Share button now lets you send listings to social media with just a few clicks, as long as the listing is participating in the IDX program (read about about the rules and requirements to use social media).
While that’s a convenient way to share listing, there’s a better way to put your listings on social media – through your own IDX website.
Why Sharing From Your IDX Website is Better
Social media sharing from the MLS is great, but there are advantages you can only get by sharing listings from your IDX website such as:
- All listing links go back to your own website, which always features you and your branding, rather than directing back to a generic MLS page.
- Sharing to social from your own website can improve how search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.) rank it, thus increasing traffic to your branded site.
- Most IDX websites save you time by posting simultaneously to more social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) with a single click.

Hello! We’re talking about listings that are participating in the IDX program only. Listings appearing via the IDX policy, mean that the brokerage has opted-in for those to share through the program. ADRE has rules on the disclosure related to social media: https://www.azre.gov/publicinfo/documents/Advertising_Brochure_4_2017.pdf and we have rules as well: https://armls.com/posting-listings-to-social-media. Hope that helps 🙂
