The Arizona Biltmore Hotel is a historic Phoenix landmark that opened its doors in 1929. Just recently the building changed hands and was purchased by Blackstone. Blackstone is the largest private real estate equity firm in the world. Some other properties owned by Blackstone include the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort here in Phoenix and the Cosmopolitan tower in Las Vegas. The $403 million dollar sale of the hotel was the largest resort sale in Phoenix to date.
The property will remain a Hilton hotel as part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection. The Biltmore was design by Albert Chase McArthur, a student of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The resort’s history runs deep, boosting a stay by every US president except Hoover and Obama, the honeymoon spot of Ronald and Nancy Reagan and one of Marilyn Monroe’s favorite swimming pools.
The Biltmore’s location makes is a great destination for business events and conventions held here in the Valley as well tourists and locals needing to escape their daily routines.
