As the year winds down and we approach 2020, let’s look back at some of the biggest changes that occurred in 2019.


The ActiveKEY (that white handheld lockbox key) ran on outdated 2G technology, which made supporting it unfeasible. Subscribers who had the ActiveKEY were upgraded to the ExpressKEY (the separate handheld device). Today, subscribers have two options when it comes to lockbox keys- the XpressKEY or the eKEY (an app installed on your smartphone). Each key has pros and cons but 8 out of 10 new subscribers choose the eKEY. Here are the differences between the two keys.


In May, Flexmls introduced new Showing Instructions fields, which are easier to understand and follow. Now it’s clear to know if permission is required or if the listing agent just wants to be notified before the showing. Be sure you understand the rules in order to avoid potential fines! There are now two simple options to choose from when adding a listing: Permission Required to Show: No and Permission Required to Show: Yes. RapidStats is the in-house reporting and market analytics tool from ARMLS. In 2019, RapidStats got a new interface which greatly enhanced the user experience. RapidStats also introduced Agent Metrics, which allows you to pull sales data on any agent/broker of ARMLS. The data goes back 24 months and is broken down into several different categories such as Agent Production, Agent Inventory, Agent Efficiency and Agent Top Producers. The pages that store your saved searches and listing collections have gone through a recent overhaul. They’ve been updated and streamlined for an easier user experience. The option to have favorite searches has been added and the page is much easier to navigate.


Co-Listers now have the availability to make changes to the listing while active. They will also receive courtesy notices. These notices include Expiring in 10 Days notice; Status Change to UCB notice; 10 and 2 Days Closing notices and Listing has Closed notice.
