The Flexmls map is a great resource, but distinguishing what the various tools are and how they work can be time consuming and frustrating. So lo and behold, this map search cheat sheet explains what each tool is and how to use it. Enjoy!

Pan-Map-Flexmls-Map-Search-Tool

PAN MAP

Navigate the map in front of you by placing your cursor on the map, then click and hold to move around the map freely.

Zoom-In-Flexmls-Map-Search-Tool

ZOOM IN

Zoom in on the map at varying distances depending on how big or small you make the zoom box. Locate the area you would like to zoom in on, click and hold, then drag the zoom box to however big or small you would like. Finally, let go of your mouse and your map will zoom in accordingly.

Nosy-Neighbor-Flexmls-Map-Search-Tool

NOSY NEIGHBOR

You can select an individual property to view any previous listings (if any), and/or view the tax information via a quick link to the Monsoon tax system. To utilize this tool, you must be zoomed in as far as possible until you see property numbers. Click on the center of the property and a pop-up will appear, giving you the option to view any previous listings or to take you to the Monsoon tax system.

Measure-Flexmls-Map-Search-Tool

MEASURE

This tool will measure the distance traveled in feet, then convert to miles once it surpasses 5,280 feet. Click once to plant the tool, then move your cursor across the screen, and click again to plant the distance traveled. It will appear above the line you created. Click your mouse for every direction change to plant the distance traveled for each movement.

RECTANGLE

Draw a rectangle (or square) to search for properties within the borders of your shape. Click to plant your shape, make it as big or small you would like, then click once again to plant it. Once planted, click within the shape (not on a property) to edit or remove it. Zoom in or out accordingly.

CIRCLE

Draw a circle (or oval) to search for properties within the borders of your shape. Click to plant your shape, make it as big or small you would like, then click once again to plant it. Once planted, click within the shape (not on a property) to edit or remove it. Zoom in or out
accordingly.

Polygon-Flexmls-Map-Search-Tool

POLYGON

Draw a free form shape to search for properties within the borders of your created shape. Click to plant your shape, then click again for every directional change. Don’t cross the lines or else you will get an error message. Once you’ve traced back to your starting point, double-click your mouse to plant the shape. Click within the shape (not on a property) to edit or remove it. Zoom in or out accordingly. This tool works best with any of the available Map Overlays.
