Building a new listing from scratch can be time consuming and intimidating. Fret not, because there is a way to easily “copy” some of the fields from a previous listing by using the old listing number. Unfortunately, if there is no previous listing number within Flexmls, you’ll have to begin from scratch.

Disclaimer: Check with your broker on if they allow you to use the Copy listing feature. You must do your due diligence and make sure the information you copied over is up-to-date and accurate. This will require you to sit down with your seller and to scope out any and all of the changes with their property.

To Copy a Listing

From the Flexmls dashboard, go to the Add/Change tab and select Copy (Full Copy is only for subscribers who have previously listed that specific property before).

Enter the most recent MLS number, uncheck the box next to Copy Photos and click Next. On the next pageselect the property type from the drop down and click Next.

The majority of your Residential Input form should be filled out. Fields such as list price, list date, etc. will be blank because you will have to determine that with the seller. After you’ve reviewed the information in the form, select Save Listing as Incomplete, then select Continue.

Finally, select Print or Email This Listing, then under the Generate Input Form section select Print or Email.

Your Residential Input form should appear as a PDF that looks like this:

There you have it! You now have the most recent listing printed off and ready to present to your seller. From here, make sure everything within the form is accurate and updated. Then all you have to do is update it within Flexmls and submit the listing with the intended on-market date.
